There are many freeware applications for converting video and audio formats back and forth, but the most useful I have found so far is the “FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter”. At first, the name struck me as if it is an advertisement or a fake program leading to a virus. It took me awhile (at least 6 months) before I ran it in my PC. The second impression, the software testing part, improved drastically. Those formats on its name are not just the format it can handle. Other formats not mentioned in its name would MP3, H264, MOV, AAC, AVC, AMR, WAV, ASF and more. Its settings are simple to use and, in its own simplicity, every setting is useful. In addition, the conversion speed is quite fast (basing on a PC with mediocre quality specifications). Also, it just doesn’t convert from a FLV format but to any format it handles.
